The CMRL-Exalogic case concerns allegations that Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited made payments of about Rs 2.78 crore to Exalogic Solutions, linked to Veena T, without corresponding consultancy services, with investigators examining whether the transactions concealed corruption or illegal transfers. The case also names former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his son-in-law P A Mohamed Riyas, all of whom deny wrongdoing. Kerala’s High Court directed registration of a corruption FIR, while the Enforcement Directorate is pursuing related money-laundering inquiries and has summoned Vijayan for questioning. The Supreme Court has kept the FIR in place but temporarily paused the vigilance investigation, leaving the legality of the probe, possible coercive action, and the evidentiary basis of the allegations at stake.
